I am familiarising myself with the Minimoog model D - Is it just me or do the ressiues have much nicer wood on them? Almost makes it more tempting than the vintage...

The reissues do have very nice wood. Vintage minis are variable, I think, from very nice to just a little better than painted wood. Those original Minis were in production for over a decade, during which the wood, front panel, and pitch wheel materials were occasionally updated.
