(2024) Minimoog voyager hangs at bob screen

Post by primitif » Sun Mar 10, 2024 3:09 pm

Help!!

My Moog voyager electric blue keeps on resetting at Bob’s screen and I can’t do much. It is stuck when I tried to import my presets. Sometimes the screen dies and it keeps on resetting back to mr Bob. Im based in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia so getting it fixed is a hassle :(. Anyone experiencing the same problem?

I don’t have that problem fortunately. What year is your Electric Blue Voyager ? What OS does it have?
In 1997 the Electric Blue was released in limited quantities 5 years beforeThe voyager was released in 2002.
I don’t have an Electric Blue Voyager. Hope you can figure out how to solve your problem with your Electric Blue.

Do you have a reliable source for the 1997 Electric Blue? I am only aware of a 2004 version of that name. The „1997“ given at the english Wikipedia is without a reference. And I did not fine one, beside pages repeating this from Wikipedia.
And Bob Moog got his „Moog“ company name back in 2002, not 1997.

The Minimoog Voyager SN #002 got a certificate of being from 2002. See here.
And I saw Voyager #058 here in Germany. It was delivered fresh from Moog to the proud owner in 2002. And I know the german owner of the SN #057, delivered 2002.

I also remember the name Voyager came from a kind of compitition. And it was Amanda Pulver who won it with the name „Voyager“.

Axel Hartmann, who designed the final panel for the serial production started to work on it in early 2002. Read here.

So I think the „1997“ is either pure hand made prototypes of Big Briar and were not for sale. And they did not had the patch memory, as Rudi Linhard pursued Bob to make a new Minimoog in 2000:
„ 1992 besuchten meine Frau und ich Bob und seine erste Frau Shirleigh in Leicester, NC. Seit dieser Zeit hatte ich immer wieder versucht, Bob zu einem Bau eines neuen Minis (mit MIDI) zu überreden. Ich habe 8 Jahre dazu gebraucht…“

Translates to:
„ In 1992 my wife and I visited Bob and his first wife Shirleigh in Leicester, NC. Since that time I had repeatedly tried to persuade Bob to build a new Mini (with MIDI). It took me 8 years to do this...“

Is it possible to select "Software Version" in the MASTER menu?
If so, please let us know what are the system and boot versions.

That was my guess.
It is like this in the english Wikipedia version. But not in the german or french version.
I remember these times very well, and I do trust my memory more than a single Wikipedia text.

Till is correct. Wiki is wrong. If you jump in the De Lorian and head back to 1997 you won't find any Moog Voyagers.

What if you jump in the time machine with a Voyager?
WIll you break the filter spacing - sustain time continuum?!! :)

If Biff Behringer gets hold of it and releases a clone before Bob makes the original then we'll be in an alternate reality where Bob doesn't get the Moog name back, all the "Moog" Voyagers, Phatties, Subs,Mother's,etc disappear like they never existed and your mum gets the hots for you.
