Tremolo throb

I have the 1st gen (are 2nd gens the same circuit??) MF tremolo and it has recently started to make a throbbing noise. it matches the speed of the tremolo, and I believe it happens when the sine wave hits the valley. It is always doing it and none of the controls seem to affect it at all (except the speed).
I have done all the basics. Checking cables, grounding issues, isolating the pedal. I don't see anything on the board that looks damaged, leaking, or anything like that.
Any direction to help me fix my favorite pedal would be greatly appreciated!
