Brand New Minitaur Scratchy Volume

Just received a brand new Minitaur and love the thing, except that the volume pot was already scratchy on arrival. I’ve only had it a couple days. Is this normal/common or should I return it as defective?

Sounds defective. I would not be ok with that.
