Changing start step of M32 Sequencer

In the Mother 32 it is possible to set a new (shorter) end of sequence. This works fine. However thru some weird and not remembered key presses I seem to occasionally change the start point. For example if I have a 24 step sequence I have somehow gotten a 16 step sequence starting at step 9. If you stop and reset the sequence then it will start then with step 1 then loop from step 9 to step 24. Any ideas what’s happening? I have used the Mother32_restore_defaults.syx but fault still happens.
