Matriach - Rate/Div Knob Misbehaving

The clock on my Matriach is playing up. Just after turning on when the rate/div knob is full left the bmp is 20. But randomly it will jump up to 147 bmp and stay there until I turn it off and on again. This happens also also when I'm feeding it an external clock. Very frustrating obviously.
Does anyone have any ideas?
