CV Clock Out issues with Ableton

So I've managed to successfully connect the clock out utility in Ableton with the ADV/CLOCK input on my Dfam. I know this because when i hit play in Ableton, my Dfam begins playing. My issue is that Dfam will only play one step of the sequence repeatedly. It will not advance the sequence. Has anyone else had this issue/ and if so, does anyone have a solution? I'm totally stumped....
