Minimoog Operation Voltage?

Post by sjm » Sun Feb 22, 2004 8:35 am

Hello! I am new to this group and I've just purchased an early Minimoog via ebay and wondered what the operating voltage was? Will I be able to plug it straight into the 240v supply here in the UK or will I need a step-down transformer to convert the supply to 110v first?

I used to own a Prodigy and that operated on any supply between 110-240v.

Thanks!

You could have asked the seller..... what country did this moog come from?

Well it's an original US model but it's coming from France. It hasn't been modified in any way, I know that, so that shouldn't make a difference. Is the Mini the same as the Prodigy in that it'll accept all voltages from 110-240?

I seem to recall the Prodigy had this info on the back panel but I don't know if a Mini does or not.

Most model D minimoogs have a 120/240 volt selector switch on the rear panel. However the earliest ones did not have a switch, but these would be the first few hundred. Seeing that over 12,000 models Ds were built then your chances are good.
