Routing stereo audio through Matriarch filter

Hey all
I can't seem to find a solid answer to this, so trying here.
How does one go about routing stereo audio (DAW or synth via patchbay) through the Matriarch filter?
My notes and stuff thus far:
- From what I understand I would need to route through VCF1 + VCF2 to bypass mixer (vs. instrument in for mono)
- From what I understand the signal needs some kind of boost to be loud enough for the modular 5v, but with interface preamps this may not be required? Or just a bit quieter?
- I have a decoupled interface (Apollo x8)
- I have 1/4" TS > Minijack cables
