Mother-32 SEQ + Sting!64

Hi!
I am sequencing the Mother-32 from Ableton using maxforlive Sting!64.
I found that I can only sequence the Mother when the Sequencer is off. I setup the option "Follow MIDI Start/Stop" to Off and it works.
I also found that if I use the Assign output, it only works when the sequencer is running,
Its is possible to have the sequencer running and receive external MIDI notes (not for transpose) at the same time??
How you guys have this sorted out?
