Mod wheel out on back wrong impedance

I noticed the mod wheel output from the back of the synth cannot be used as one of the things connected to a mult to mix it along with any of the other modulation sources, eg the output of an attenuator, or the output of an LFO etc.

Anyone from Moog: is there a specific reason for this? Why make all the front panel mod sources have the same output impedance so they can be mixed with a passive mult but then not also match the mod wheel output at the back to this same level?

not that it needs saying to an impedance complainer :0) but you could make a patch cable with a 1k series resistor.

btw which synth is this for?
