Subsequent 25 editor not connecting in my DAW

Hello to anyone who may help:
In Bitwig, the editor VST cannot connect to my sub25. As soon as the editor is loaded, it give me an error "The editor cannot connect to the hardware. Please connect..." But it is already connected. Whats more, is that the stand alone version of the editor works fine (albeit, only when the DAW is closed).
When I look at "Prefs" from the editor, I see that that Sub 25 is indeed already set for MIDI in/out.
