Problem with theremini when auto mute is off

Hi everyone,
First, please excuse my english, I'm french...
I am having an issue whith my theremini. When I put auto mute off, and go away from the instrument,
the pitch goes up and stay on the highest note...
I read that it is suppose to stay on the lowest note. I want to use it as a drone when I play an other instrument, far
from the theremini... But I can't do that with this really high pitch.
Anyone knows why i'm having this issue ? When auto mute is on, all seems to work normally by the way...
The firmware is 1.1.1, I try to recalibrate, and reset to factory settings, my theremini is on a microphone stand with no metal object near.
