Refurbish LP Stage I keybed?

Hi -- I've got a fairly early LP Stage 1 (serial number in the 300s) that I bought new, and still use as my main mono. Over the years the keyboard action has gotten pretty clacky, and I've always wished it was a bit stiffer. Is it possible to refurbish the action on these, so that it will be quiet and maybe firmer? If so, are there good DIY options? Or, is this something that Moog would do at the factory if I was willing to pay for shipping? Thanks for any advice...
