Mother-32 with Bhringer RD-8

Guys,
Would you please give me some advice on synchronizing the mother-32 sequence with the Behringer RD-8.

1. I connected the MIDI OUT of RD-8 to the MIDI IN of mother-32 for sync. The tempo and start/stop are finely synced, but the tone pitch of the mother-32 sequence sometimes goes wrong. Is there a solution?

2. There is only MIDI IN for mother-32 midi, but what should I do if I want to use mother-32 as host, and rd-8 as slave to synchronize?

Regards,
June

The only way I can think of that could work is using a CV to midi convertor

1. Isn't the sequencer driving the pitch? How is this relevant to RD-8? More detail please.

2. The RD-8 "sync/clock in" is a TRS cable with clock and run/stop. If the edge and level spec's are right it should work. Perhaps there's a bug in the interface?

As always, work from the most recent firmware when encountering a problem.

Thank you for comment.

1. I connect the MIDI cable with rd8 midi-out as the host, and mother32 midi-in as the slave.

And I start the drum sequence of rd8, the sequence of mother32 also starts, and when I press the stop button of rd8, mother32 will also stop. The tempo during play is also synchronized without problems.
There is no problem so far.

However, the pitch of the mother32 sequence melody is not stable.
Sometimes different pitches occur.

When I play the sequence of only mother32 without sync rd8, the pitch is stable, so I think that there is no problem with the sequencer of mother32 itself.

I posted a video link:

this is original sequense of mother32

This is the sequence of mother32 when connecting with rd8 with midi cable. There are places where the pitch is different.

2. I connected rd8 sync-in and Mother32 assign-out. I was able to sync rd8 with mother32 as the host perfectly.
Thank you

June

1. I get it now. The only 'path' for pitch info is from the sequencer - which, alone sound fine - and the RD-8. I don't have an RD-8, but perhaps it's modulating the note information somehow - a modulation CC perhaps?

2. So, at least something works.

Thanks for your advice.
I solved it by changing the rd8 midi transmission number to 16 instead of 1 as default setting.

Thanks June

Ah, OK. So it was the RD-8 MIDI note noodling it up for you.
