That’s a strange question for the uninitiated,
I’m sure. But hey! I’m a newbie. I have both a Werkstatt and a Keystep and I’ve read things online that make me afraid that the CV out is going to fry my Werkstatt. I’ve got the new 2020 Werkstatt with CB Expander and Gate In btw. Any help would be much appreciated!

I have a BeatStep Pro and have been using it with the same model Werkstatt for months now with no problem. Not sure how analogous it is with the KeyStep, but I saw similar concerns. At least for the BeatStep you can connect to it with the included midi config app and check/adjust the CV outputs. Same with keystep?

No, using an Arturia Keystep to control a Moog Werkstatt should not fry the Werkstatt. The Keystep's CV (Control Voltage) and Gate outputs are designed to be compatible with standard synthesizer connections, including those on the Werkstatt. The Werkstatt is designed to handle these control signals, and they won't cause any damage.
