I’m wanting to play the Minimoog d app on my iPad via an external midi keyboard controller but so far ..no luck.
I’m using the correct connections but the external midi keyboard is just not recognised.
The midi keyboard is about 12 years old...do I need a more modern one ?
If so any recommendations ? I need full size keys .

It's pretty straight forward, iOS doesn't require any setting and in the Model D app it should show up in Settings, MIDI Input

Make sure it is a class compliant device, otherwise you might have to install a driver of some sort

I got an Alesis q25 to overcome the problem of iPad not detecting midi keyboard...
Still no luck !
I’ve tried different connections and powers usb hubs, a to b cables etc

The iPad simply won’t recognise the q25. When plugged in nothing happens at all. iPad is two years old and up to date.

Do I need to configure settings or something ? I’m at a dead end.

I have used lots of different keyboards and they all work, it can even be played wirelessly from an old MIDI controller into the computer, then set with RTPMidi on Windows or Audio Midi setup on mac

Thanx for all replies ..sorry for delay.

It’s solved !

There is a small title that pops up in the app that’s just says ..q25.
I didn’t realise it had to be clicked on and highlighted ..no mention of this as I found. Most links tend to show a bright box pop up to say ...such and such connected ..enable. But this was pretty buried.

One of those things that’s so simple ...provided you are aware !

Anyway the keyboard works fine and I’m delighted and I hope this might help anyone else who’s gets stuck.
