New Matriarch Global Settings Editor

Hi everyone,

Thanks to the new v1.2 firmware update that enables global setting editing over SysEx, I was able to build a simple Matriarch settings editor that runs in your browser using a JavaScript MIDI library.

You can try it out here: https://mreid.github.io/matriarch-editor/index.html

There are instructions on how to use it on the same page as the editor.

I hope some of you find it useful.

Fantastic! I was concerned at first that it wouldn't work with my DAW (Reaper) open at the same time. But it's just a matter of disabling the Matriarch track so that it can recognize the USB or midi ports . I guess it's not multi-client? Not a big deal as this is so much better than manually configuring the globals. If someone comes up with a VST version that would be even better. Until then I'll be using this.

Thanks and well done!

Hi, looks good!
You do also know about my standalone program MatriarchSwitch?

Hi hudri,

No, I hadn't seen that. Looks great!

Being able to save settings is a really useful feature. And the parameter descriptions are nice too. I'm hoping to add similar things to the one I wrote when I next get a chance.

Regards,

Mark

Hello! First post! :)
This looks so great.
I'm on a Mac with Mojave and I can't get it to run with neither Firefox or Safari, although I've installed the API extension... it always says "MIDI-Out: Cannot find Matriarch! MIDI-In: Cannot find Matriarch!"

Before I try much further, has anyone succeeded with this configuration?

Can you try Chrome? I found it to be the simplest browser to set up for this. No plug ins required, it just pops up a prompt asking for access to your machine’s MIDI ports.

Also, maybe check that the MIDI ports for your Matriarch have the word “Matriarch” in them. The editor currently assumes that. You can check the name using the Audio MIDI Setup app on your Mac.

For me, it works on macOS High Sierra on Firefox, Chrome and Opera.
Only the latter loads the defaults from the synth, and Firefox is the only one which doesn't bring a pop-up asking for permission to use MIDI ports

Thank you for this! This saved me, since my Matriarch for some reason decided to stop saving Global setting edits manually. I used your editor to make changes as well as troubleshooting the fact that it is not working. I'm trying to contact MOOG now. If I didn't have this I would be out of luck make changes.

did you try a Global resets ?
Enter Globals with HOLD + SYNC ENABLE then hold the highest black key and hit the lowest black key (on 1.2.3)

This is the greatest thing since sliced bread - 4/5 **** !!! 8)

But I did have one issue, when I had Ableton 11 and Push2 running with all 16 midi devices enabled for in and out, including the Matriarch, and after I loaded the Matriarch Global Settings Editor page and accepted the midi popup, like half the midi channels in Ableton started showing up as orange, and I couldn't get anything to work.

But it was a simple fix, I just saved my Ableton project and rebooted, lol!

My recommendation is to close the project you are working on, if Ableton 11 on PC (Win10).

I'm using Chrome btw.

Thanks,
__e

@mreid :
Would it be possible to simply save configurations to the computer ?
That would be awesome.
