Digitakt and matriarch midi feedback

Hi, new matriarch user here. I’m trying to sequence the Matriarch with a Digitakt, as well as record notes into the sequence with the Matriarch keyboard. I have midi out and in
on channel 9, and I get what seems like midi feedback when I connect the midi out of the Matriarch to midi in on the Digitakt. Any suggestions? Thanks.
