Grandmother; Play Button lights up when I press Hold

My Play and Hold buttons are behaving erratically. Play no longer lights up/engages when I press it. I have to press Hold to engage Play. Also, pressing Hold and Sync no longer enters the Global Settings mode. Everything else works fine. I'm running firmware 1.06. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best, Hanno

this may not apply: but I had some weird behaviour like that, when I wasn't using the GM's power button to turn it on/off
I had everything plugged into a power bar and used the powerbar to turn on/off a bunch of stuff
you could try powercycling the Grandmother, using it's switch?
I assume the CPU inside wasn't getting a clean shutdown/boot
it's been fine for me ever since I stopped with the powerbar
