Can an audio signal be used as a CV signal?

I have a Sub 37 and a Korg SV-1. Can I take the audio out of either the line outs or headphone out of the Korg and plug it into the volume or filter CV of the Sub 37 to affect those controls as a control voltage? I'd just go ahead and do it but I don't want to damage anything.

If that can't be done directly, is there a way to convert an audio signal into a control voltage signal?

You won't damage anything, go ahead

The signal actually will be way lower than 5 volts, you might want to boost it before you use it as CV

Ah ok, thank you. It worked but it does frequency modulation. I think what I actually might want is an envelope follower but I'll probably have to get a separate Eurorack module like this https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... wer-module to do so.

A pitch tracking CV is also interesting in addition to an envelope follower.

I documented my experience with this technique. Hopefully it is of use to you .....
