MIDI XY Pad for Voyager RME

I have searched the forums, but I have not found anything definitive or current on this. I have a Voyager RME and I am trying to get it more integrated into my studio. I feel that I’m missing out on quite a bit of expression without the touchpad from the keyboard version. Before taking the drastic measure of replacing the RME with the keyboard, is there a cheap and easy alternative for the touchpad? I would prefer a hardware XY pad, but I have an iPad and would be open to using an IOS app. I need to keep the cost low because I am planning to get the Voyager slew rate mod done soon. I also have a Waldorf Quantum with touchscreen and a Moog One with the XY pad - it would be ideal if I could use one of these for touchpad control on the Voyager RME... would either of those work in a DAW environment (Logic Pro X)? Thanks for any suggestions!

Anything that send CCs (Continuous Controller Measages) out over midi will work. You just simply set up the transmitted CC #s in which ever device you want to use to match the assigned CC for which ever Voyager's parameter you want to control. The CC assignments in the Voyager are fixed and documented in the user manual.
I'm guessing Moog One sends out CC messages from the touch pad but check the manual. Not sure about the Quantum display although I kind of doubt it.

And yes, they will work in your DAW.

The cheapest option I have found is the Korg Nanopad2. Can anyone confirm that this will work seamlessly with the Moog Minimoog Voyager RME? By seamlessly, I mean will presets accept this as the X/Y pad on the Voyager keyboard, without any custom midi cc settings?

Yes - as long as you have which ever parameter you're trying to control enabled to receive in the Master(global) settings (under "Midi Enables"). Like I said previously the CC for each parameter is fixed so you can't customize them even if you wanted to.
