Voyager 3-1 FM modulation problem?

When modulating oscillator 2 with oscillator 3, via the modulation busses, the modulation effect is instant and precise over several octaves. But when modulating oscillator 1 with oscillator 3 via the “3-1 FM” switch the story is somewhat different.
Let´s say I play a low C, and then play a C two octaves up, it sounds like there is a glide on the modulation source when playing the higher note. It, sort of, takes a second for the effect to stabilize. If I continue to play the same, higher, note all is fine but if I go back to the low C I get the same “glide” issue for the first note again.
Is the 3-1 FM-function like this on all Voyagers or is there something wrong with my synth?
