Hi! Does anybody know how one could create a Voyager overdrive mode/option as on the LP. Also, if anyone has seen the Moog movie, there is a musician using a mic thru his Mini D. could anyone explain the hookup process for this and could this be further controlled with a CP251 or any number of moogers? Any help would be greatly appreciated as my Voy Sig is up in Ashville right now for all of the Mods. thanks all.

feed the right output back into the extrnal input and that can get close.the lp has a sound all of its own though. i recommend getting them to send an LP back with your voyager

I'm not sure of the specific sound you're going for - i assume "LP" means low pass filter moogerfooger.

Right now, in the computer, I'm using Amblitube 2 - it rocks. You can get sick distortion or overdrive. For live performance [or if you want to mic your amp], a tube amplifier cannot be underestimated - i'm lucky enough to have use of a vintage ampeg b-15 bass amp, thing is sick. When you feed the r-out into the ext audio in + a tube amp, things get even better.

It's important to recognize that these are guitar effects and amps, so you should be aware of how they work, and how they might affect the voyager or any keyboard. You have to work more for the right sound, but, it's worth it...

Also, another way to get psuedo-distortion, I put the lfo to it's fastest speed, on triangle or square, to wave or filter, and get varying degrees of distortion. Add an fx processor or tube amp to this combo and things, again, get even better.

Finally, assigning osc 3 [while off or on, but not in sub-mode] really enhances the growl I find.

Thanks guys for the ideas especially the 'kicking it up a notch' and the use of the low pass filter, cant wait to use some of these great hookups. I called Linda P. and she said my Voyager should be back home to me by Thurs <fingers crossed> I really miss it.!!Great Stuff.

Has anyone figured out what was going on in the Moog movie with that guys microphone hookup on his Minimoog D ? sort of using his voice as a CV huh??...now that I dont have to wait for as my D sits at my beckoned call. I am a complete novice with all of the "theory" behind synthesis and just want to learn as much as my head can handle, so any info on the mic thingy would be greatly appreciated. thanks again. Peace

The guy is Mark Nishita, keyboard player of the beastie boys, and I believe all that he's doing is putting the mic into the extrenal audio input of the moog. You can do this on the Model D and the voyager and it sounds like he's also set it up so that the signal is being overloaded (just turn the ext input knob close to all the way up). You can also still play the keyboard while doing this...plug anything in too!! A drum machiene works especially well.
