Can't save timbres unless saving as part of a preset

Hi All - hope your'e all having a musical weekend :-)
I picked up my "One" yesterday and have read the manual back to front (even before I bought it!) and cannot save a timbre without saving the preset (i.e. the soft button for save timbre does nothing) I have updated to latest OS - any ideas?
I am also having odd behaviour with the mod wheel - seems to suddenly jump to a value when playing - i.e. one moment i have no vibrato then all of a sudden I do.
Loving the sounds and I am aware that this is a work in progress
All help gratefully received

That’s normal behaviour at the mo.
Your mid wheel issue - does it do this on an init patch with no other mod routings?

Thanks for your reply - tried last night and couldn’t get it to do this with init patch

Sounds like a LFO or envelope assigned to pitch somewhere or even AT or pressure. Find the offending patch and look at modulations (and check each active timbre)

I have worked out what is going wrong
If I have the mod wheel up and change to a different patch and then use aftertouch the patch suddenly recognises the mod wheel position and add vibrato for example - very reproducible. There is a way around this - to make sure the mod wheel is always fully down before changing patches but that isn't ideal.

Does your "One" do this?

Do you know I’m not sure and it’s in storage for a house move at mo. :(

When I’m in my new studio will definitely check!
