Avatars???

Hello,
Is it just me or is there a problem with avatars in these forums...i mean, i can live without them, but is there a secret to uploading an avatar?
I have tried .png .bmp .gif .jpg all of them are under 80x80 pixels and have been under 6 kilobytes, but all i get is that "X" where the avatar should be...
Anyone?

That's weird; I have my own avatar and I never encountered problems here.

Could there be a problem with the host URL of your avatar ?
