Ok to Leave On?

I originally posted this to the “questions” thread for Dan but i know he’s a busy guy. So I hope you all don’t mind the breach in etiquette as I make this a topic.

Q. I’m used to leaving things on in the studio during a project. I know the MO has a sophisticated cooling sys so is it OK to leave it running if I’m going to be away from it for hours or overnight? Alternatively, is it better to leave it on if you’re breaking for say... 3 or 4 hours as opposed to powering down etc?

Many thanks all!

Great question! I would also like feedback on this from an engineer's point of view.

This myth keeps getting perpetuated since the 1970s, and I'm an engineer: http://analoguediehard.com/faq.html#24-7-myth

Ok, it’s not a forced hot air furnace so it’s ok to switch on and off to my heart’s content.
Many thanks!
