LFO stuck
LFO stuck
hey y’all! It’s been a long time, I’ve been a busy boy! Anyway, my voyager old school LFO is stuck on the highest speed, so it’s basically unusable- anyone ever had this happen?

Hey
Last time we talk was like "oh it's been long... glad to read you again" hehe
I don't have any clue about your LFO problem. Hopefully, only the potentiometer is broken. Anyone?

yeah, I've been using a minibrute for my synth gigs but of course it's not near as fat as the Moog, and I miss my sync!! Last night I dug up an Electro Harmonics cv sequencer and plugged in into the mod2 port, so at least I can create a vibrato now... I'll call Moog and see what they think... cheers man, hope all is well!

got on Moog chat on their site- they advise an RMA; I don't think it'd be that big of a fix, but my under-the-hood tool set is pretty much non-existent, and my sauntering skills are horrifically bad-
but man, great customer service- within 10 seconds of posting, I had a tech- thinking about getting it all fixed up then selling for one of these new offerings.. or maybe not- the Grandmother appeals to my original love affair with the MG1, but I'd like to hands on try it out first- the Osc sync has to be as lovely as the Voyager- Can the GMother be overdriven? I know I could look that up, but I'm lazy..

From some demos that I've watched, yes the GrandMother can be overdriven in a very good way. If you raise the levels in the mixer section you'll hear a very pleasant harmonic distortion reminiscent of what is achieved on the Minimoog D doing the same thing.

Re: LFO stuck
nope- but it has everything I want/need, and I love that it can be overdriven- my Voyager OS is lovely but too big for small clubs and this is the 4th time I've had to service a broken feature- I've been limping along with a Minibrute for gigs- But the album for this particular band, I did all the parts on the Voyager, so I feel I'm doing a disservice to the songs- The growling Osc sync, etc, I'll be able to easily achieve on this new one, and my back will appreciate the easier travel load... here's that album, btw, if you're curious- doing a vinyl release show soon, so thank heavens I'll have a Moog for it! https://fauxkillasmusic.bandcamp.com/releases
