it really pays to get one or two voltage control pedals (if you don't like the moog ones, musician's friend has the Yamaha FC7 ) and plug into the CV jacks, especially frequency - that's where the ring mod really becomes part of your instrument.

I haven't had the mooger a real long time yet, but I do have a few settings I use for specific songs that I'll share with you :

this is a wacky tremoloish setting that sometimes sounds like a phone ringing:
LFO=10
MIX=7
square
HI
RATE=in the middle between 3.2 and 6.4
FREQ=120/2.5

this one is just downright weird:
LFO=6
DRIVE=MID
MIX=just less than 6
sine
LO
RATE=0.8
FREQ=between 1K/20 and 4K/80

this one is pretty crunky:
LFO=5
DRIVE=MID
MIX=7
sine
LO
RATE=0.8
FREQ=just less than 1K/20

I have this written down but forget what it sounds like:
LFO=5
MIX=5
sine
HI
RATE=12
FREQ=middle between 1K/20 and 4K/80

this was the first one I used for a particular song, it's really annoying but fun:
LFO=5
MIX=7
square
HI
RATE=right in the middle
FREQ=1K/20

have fun!
