DFAM VCO 1 & 2 CVs are HOT — good or bad?

In experimenting with the DFAM, I came across a curious and musically interesting response when plugging cables into the "VCO 1 CV" and "VCO 2 CV" patch points. When I plug a cable into these two patch points—without plugging the other end into anything else—the VCOs immediately begin modulating and responding to how I bend and touch the cable. The sound is quite cool, but I am concerned that this is a defect—perhaps these patch points are not grounded?? Can anyone else with a DFAM confirm/duplicate this experience? And can someone from Moog confirm if this is a defect and/or if creating these hot/electrical sounds with an open-ended cable is ok for the unit. Thanks!

Welcome to modular!
Modular signals are super hot. There's no way you can damage the unit by touching the cables like that. That's actually a common trick in modular, and some companies even sell special output jacks especially made for touching and tweaking: http://www.landscape.fm/allflesh/
