cp-251: noise as audio output - hum

Hi,

I have cp-251 and when I plug the Noise-out into my volume pedal I get the noise but also a hum or buzz (I don´t know the appropriate term in english for german "brummen").

It sounds like it´s coming from the house electricity, but I only get it from the noise output on the cp-251, not from the LFO or other ouptuts on the cp-251, so it can´t be the wallwart, right?

Anyone knows a solution? Should I return it?

I´d appreciate any suggestions...

What happens if you bypass the volume pedal and run the noise-out directly into your amp (set at low volume)? Have you tried different cables?

It's possible that the buzz is coming from the wall-wart (the Noise is the only audio output, so a buzz will probably only be apparent there), but more likely the buzz is caused by a ground loop. Try different cables, different power (another outlet), etc. The idea here is to systematically eliminate each element to get to the source of the problem.

thanks for the replies.

I tried the thing into my bass amp and into a mixing console both with Mono (TS?) & Stereo (RTS?) cables, testing two moog wallwarts in 2 houses.
I always get the hum which is as loud as the noise itself.
Just to be sure, the noise should be white noise?

Again, there´s no hum when I connect the LFO to the audio inputs.
