Hello,
I have a mother 32,
How to sync my LFO rate with an external clock?
I have Arturia Beat Step Pro or even from my Ableton clock.

Thank you

Thank you for the feedback, but the LFO rate is not getting insyc with my BeatStepPro clock.
I have changed the assignable output to the second option "CLOCK", I have also tried the other 2 clocks 3 and 4 and didn't work.

thanks,
samer

What kind of "sync" are you expecting? I believe analog LFO's are pretty limited in how they "sync" to a clock. The LFO's waveform will simply retrigger with each beat or bar. So, the actual rate is not in sync with your BPM, but the wave shape will restart on time—so mostly noticeable and useful with Square and S&H, maybe not so much with a triangle or sine.

From my Minimoog Voyager's manual:
...the LFO is an analog circuit, and does not automatically sync to MIDI clock; it is restarted much in the manner of oscillator sync, and does not defeat the Rate control.

unfortunately the mothers assign out doesnt pass through the midi clock, only clock out when the seq is running.
which i'd really like to see adressed by a firmware update....

Hey, old post but I just published a video where I cover in detail the issue of syncing the LFO with an external clock source on the Moog Grandmother.
