Maybe Your Baby? Stevie (the incomparable!) Wonder

Hi Guys,
Has anybody been successful in making a bass patch like Stevie uses in Maybe Your Baby? I think there are two basses in there, but it is the super-funky WoW BoW bass I am speaking of.
I have read back here and I find out that Stevie sometimes used TONTO. Does that explain why (a) I cannot make that sound with a Moog and (b) why nobody else I have ever heard has made that sound since? Not like Stevie did - not with that talking quality. Is it beyond our grasp?
