Volume Control

Is there a way to equalize all the volume levels on the Voyager? I am
using several sounds and I'd really like not have to continually adjust the
volume button, but rather have it all preset.

For instance, (I can't remember the preset #) Catherine of Aragon is very
quiet against some of the more bassy sounds. I really have to set most
everything to 50% voume, then when I use the CofA preset, I have to crank
it to 100%, then when I use some of the bassy stuff, I have to go to 40%.

My guitarist works the board, and it's driving him crazy, because every once
in a while, I'll forget to adjust the voume, and something will BLAST across
the PA. If I go into the panel display to see the settings for each CV, the
value of the volume display seems unaffected by turning that knob.

I've been playing with the Voyager since July, but I can still be considered a
newbie, so please go easy on me. Thanks!!!

You can choose whether or not you want the Master Volume to always be "live", or whether it should use a value which is stored with the patch.

The parameter is under the Panel menu 1.3

Thanks for the info...I'll look for that at rehearsal today. I may need to update the version of software on the Voyager, I'm just afraid of loosing what I've saved.

ANother way is to adjust the seperate OSC mixer volumes and then resave the preset since it seems those values are the ones that change alot preset to preset

Yeah, but sometimes you want to hit the filter hotter, to generate more overdrive, but you don't necessarily want the patch itself to be louder. In that case, the Master might be a better choice.

Thanks for the input.

I went into the panel and assigned each volume control to be individual. We then took the 15 or so presets that we've come up with and worked with the volume control to get them in the range of the level that we need on a per-song basis.

I've also added a foot-controlled volume pedal, but it really helped not to have to play with the volume control by hand, since I'm playing keys/foot pedals and bass. One less thing to worry about was worth its price in gold.

Hey Rushfan,

I'm also playing keys/bass in a band. Voyager makes it easy, esp since that kind of work keeps both hands and that brain busy...!
