Minitaur and negative cv

Hello!
I have been using the minitaur with the cp-251 for awhile now, the lfo fed to the filter cutoff etc. Then it struck me that the lfo is actually sending negative cv, +/- 2.6 Volts. So im just wondering how this effects the minitaur as they, in the manual tells you not to do so, but at the same time in ths video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vakOok4cXvY it doesent seem to be a problem.
