Patch Y cable

Hi eveyone,
One question reagarding the Use of the patch panel on the Mother 32.
In the manual it is written :
"NOTE: When patching, it is OK to split an output signal with a “Mult”, a “y” cable, or with cables with stackable plugs. When connecting to inputs, only connect one output signal to a single input to prevent over-voltages."
So In my World Its okay to Use y cable or stackable cables as long input signals only receive one connection.
Is my asumption correct and has any Tried Making patches using Y cables?
Best regards from Denmark
