Setting Velocity Amount

I realize this should be simple as pie, but I'm having trouble setting the velocity values via CV connections from an Arturia BEATSTEP PRO. Using Sequencer 1 on the BEATSTEP, I have the Gate output to the Mother-32 Gate input. I have the BEATSTEP Sequencer Pitch connected to the VCO 1V/OCT. I've tried connecting the Velocity output to each in of the Mother-32, specifically, I would have thought the VCA CV, but this is not the case. So in other words, I just want to control the velocity of each note from the BEATSTEP. Simple as that. See the attached image for a visual of how things are setup. Thanks in advance!
