Problems with syncing to daw. Please help

Ok. This is going on 2 months now that I've had this problem and I can't seem to get it straightened out. Please bear with me as I attempt to word this properly. When I create a new sequence with my Sub 37 it works fine until I try to sync it with ableton. It syncs ok as far as the timing goes, but the positioning of the sequence seems to be locked in with the meters in ableton.
For example: There are 20 notes in the sequence. When I start the sequence at the beginning of bar 1, it starts on note one of the sequence. So far so good. But I want to start recording the sequence on the third bar of the song by pressing the space bar when record enabled. But when I do that it starts on the 13th note of the sequence. No bueno. If I start the sequence on the secon bar it begins the sequence on the 17th note. If I start it on the 11th bar it begins playing on the 1st note again. I don't want to have to shift all of my tracks forward or backwards any time I decide that I want to try to throw a sequence into the song after I've already started writing it. This does work but is inconvenient. I've been able to do this on the past but i must have made some sort of change that I didn't mean to and this was the result. I apologize if I have left out any vital information and will provide it if needed. I'm not to great with midi as you can tell and I'm guessing that it has something to do with that, either with my moog or within ableton. It's definitely not as fun using my moog since this happened, and I would really like to get back on track. If anyone can help with this, please do. Thank you
