Preset compatibilty

Post by bosonob » Tue Apr 04, 2006 3:18 pm

Since the LP and voyager share a similar sound architecture, I wonder if presets can be shared between them. The format is ultimately sysex, so at least LP presets might be usable on the voyager. it would be interesting to hear how each handles the same preset. I know that for instance in some cases, the microkorg and MS2000 patches can be used by both.

Thoughts?

They are very different synths. Not just the loss of the third oscillator, the lfo waveform choices are different, the LP dosen't have anywhere near the kind of modulation possibilities of the V-ger.

On the plus side, the LP looks to be extremely fast to program. Also it has a couple of features the V-ger dosent. like the variable "overload" that adds pre and post-filter distortion and the fact that the LP's filter will CV "glide" properly.
