Optimum Setup for Minitaur/M-Audio 49ES

I just received a new white panel Minitaur and what a beast it looks! That said I haven't got a sound out of it yet 
I have an M-Audio Keystation 49ES and a small amp. The problem is the 49ES doesn't have a 5 pin MIDI out only USB. When I connect the 49ES into the Minitaur there's not enough power to operate the keyboard.I have a MacBook Air so could run everything through it if that's a good config.
I would appreciate any ideas on how best to setup my Minitaur.
