moogmoog, you are too kind!

I figured I'd follow up with another download - this one is a remix I did for this French group called .cut - my first remix for someone else!

The original piece was called "Philippe F". The album of remixes is available as a free download, and my "oscillo mix" can be found there (on side two) or you can download it from me.

It's definitely more on the "noise" end of things - think Merzbow meets Cliff Burton. The noise that extends through the piece was a normal sounding distorted guitar track that I put through both the MF-101 low pass and a pedal called the "Model 86 Oscillo Fuzz" (or something like that) by Lastgasp Art Laboratories. The Oscillo Fuzz has a built in oscillator - I think it works kind of like a Z.Vex Fuzz Factory. I used the MF-101 as a filter on the original signal, then sent that filtered signal into the Oscillo Fuzz, and manipulated both the frequency of the MF-101 and the oscillator frequency of the Oscillo Fuzz simultaneously with my hands.

The bass is a variation on my usual setup: Gibson Melody Maker into an Electro-Harmonix Black Finger compressor, then I split the signal - one channel is just regular distortion (Fulltone Bass-Drive), the other is through a Z.Vex Woolly Mammoth fuzz, the MF-101, and MF-104 during some sections.

Some of the other remixes are cool - lots of different styles, some techno, some ambient - I've actually never heard the original track!
