I'm sure that most of us here are aware of the ongoing problems with the editor but I've found something else unusual.
I can get the standalone editor to connect with the SF. Turning a knob on the SF turns the editor knob etc. But when you try it in reverse i.e. turn the editor knobs a few times it freezes the SF. Just kills it completely. You have to power off. This happens with both din and usb midi as the input/output device. Have tried various midi settings to no avail. This is dissapointing as the vst version is unusable. The stand alone version was a functioning workaround but even this is unrelaiable. Whats the point of having a software panel that kills your hardware every time you want to create/edit/use your synth. I have a love/hate relationship with the SF. It sounds like a dream and its small footprint fits my compact studio but hIdden panel controls was a bad design feature. Requiring a software editor to access presets and hidden panel controls was a bad feature. Only 16 presets on the SF was a bad design feature. I'm glad that the 37 has solved these issues and can be used with no editor using good old fashioned din midi and all presets already onboard to browse but at more than twice the price its someting I cant afford. If moog cant give their customers functioning and relaiable tools to work their equipment then theres no point in having said equipment. Even if they do get round to fixing the editor will it still work in 20 years time on whatever computers we will be using in 20 years time? I'm not so sure. It'll get sold and replaced with someting that works. So come on Moog. I really want to keep my SF.
I'm running the 2.0.6 update on win10 64bit

Re: Sub Phatty Freezes
Hi I posted the post below about getting the 'HARDWARE DISCONNECTED' on the (stand alone) editor. (VSTs not showing up at all) Like you I'm using windows 10, but connecting via USB. To have it working to any extent at the moment would be great - do you think it would be worth ordering some din midi cables and trying them?
Moog Phatty, Windows 10 64bit, Cubase 7 64bit & 32bit
Re: Sub Phatty Freezes
Yes definitely. It doesn't work on USB alone. It for some reason requires both USB and din midi to work properly. I had better stability with win7 32.
