Inserting a guitar effect pedal

Are there any impedance issues in connecting a guitar effect pedal to the insert plug of a Voyager?
Do I need to use a reamp box for that?

I've done this the simplest way before, no problem for me

Thanks, I was planning to get an overdrive. Any suggestions welcome!

Try a BBE Sonic Stomp then into a EHX Bass Muff Deluxe.

Depends on the particular effects pedal but I have connected all kinds of pedals (including some very old and weird ones) via the FX insert on my Voyager and they have all worked - some better than others. It's a lot of fun. Do check that the pedal is working properly first though.

So thrilled to read this. I was wondering the same thing when I looked in the manual and read about the FX send/return jacks.
Related question, has anyone tried plugging a Mother-32 into that FX loop? This could essentially turn the Voyager into a sequencer. Problems with impedance or voltage?
Of course there would need to be adapters for the difference in jack size (going into M32 ... the output is 1/4" TRS)

From KnobTweak, two articles related to the use of guitar effect pedals with the Voyager:
‘Secret Weapon’ (see below) – Using an exciter with the Voyager.
‘Kicking It Up A Notch’ – Overdrive techniques using pedals.
Both articles are ZIP files that include mp3 examples. To download, look in the Voyager section under Files:
KT > Files > Voyager

Awesome. I have a rack version of an Aural Exciter, will try it. Maybe post an A/B video if I can find the time.

Yes I have patched a Mother 32 into a Voyager Old School. The CV tracking leaves a lot to be desired on the VOS.
