Overload control on new moog

Does this control mean distortion can be manually added to the signal path of the new synth? One thing that the voyager misses is the ability to really drive the circuits for extra harmonics. Although it does distort its in a very polite manner!

i think its an 'overload' of the filter, not the signal output... but maybe it'd be assignable somehow?

I believe the dedicated overdrive control in the new instrument is a first-of-it's-kind for a Moog Synthesizer, adding a new capability to a classic design.
Regarding the Voyager, you can overdrive the filter by placing a signal booster in the Voyager's Mix/Out loop. This is also a great place to insert OD and Distortion devices. Try a tube preamp box (ART, Presonus, etc.) here, too.

Think im gonna have to buy me the new synth as i reckon its gonna sound quite different to the voyager it also seems like the perfect gigging machine - i just hope the panel is backlit.
Once i know the price i might even sell my korgs ms20 to get one.

I thought the Rogue had an overdrive facility?

What is the name of this synth going to be? I have heard two different ones. One is pretty sweet while one sucks massively.

I'm wondering if the Overdrive (overload) will be similar to the drive on the MF-101.
If used wisely it can create some wonderful timbres.

Sound Modifiers include a single VCLPF: 24 dB /Oct Moog Ladder filter, with filter Overload control and a single Output VCA. Filter parameters are:
Cutoff
Resonance
Kb. Control Amount (how much the Key CV modulates the Filter)
Filter Env. Amount (how much +/- the filter envelope modulates the filter)
Overload
the drive control on the mf 101 cortrols the gain of the VCA in the pedal
it looks like the overload control is part of the filter, also its called OVERLOAD not OVERDRIVE
i read somewhere, on some forum site where people were talking about the difference between synths, and someone said that the filters are the main factor in the sound and that different brands have different filter sounds.
then someone said that the reason they sound different is the way they are overloaded.
one of the reasons the tb 303 has such a distinctive sound is the way its filter is overloaded
maybe this new synth allows you to change the way the filter sounds without changing its function
btw i'm doing my best at repeating something i haven't read for some time, i think this was the basic idea but i may be wrong in parts, so sorry for any confusion/offense

I think the distinct sound of the TB-303 has more to do with the fact that its filter is an 18db diode ladder filter. Not sure about overloading...but people sure love overdriving that sound.
