er, cables revisited

ok, sorry for the density here, but i'm heading to my local music store to buy patchcords for my 'multiple fooger setup', in anticipation of the arrival of a cp-251 (earlier post). until now, i've been using unbalanced 1/4" to run between units. my assumption (and this is the dense part) is that although with a new array of TRS cables i'll be able to do all my patching, both within the cp-251 and between MF's, and patch in an exp. pedal to the cp-251 (thru the red jacks), i still won't be able to use exp. pedals with the moogerfoogers even though i've got TRS cables (rather than unbalanced 1/4") inserted, UNLESS i snip the ring wires. does this make sense, or am i still missing something?

You're fine using TRS plugs. No need to clip any wiring.
