Is this a topic? Dunno. But after fluffing around with other gear I've purchased lately I have to give some kudos for Moog, who included a very nice PRINTED MANUAL with my Sub 37. I know I can download PDF's or search for shizz online but when you're buying hardware gear I think it can be presumed that sometimes you're not going to be near a computer, or just don't want to be f-ing around with a computer, and a printed reference in the gig bag is a pretty nice thing to have. That also got me thinking about graphic design (my profession) and the Sub 37 booklet is very nicely presented in the Moog style (which I love), easy to read and follow, well written and printed on paper that's not 0.1 microns thick (thanks Korg). Little things like this make the Moog experience so much more pleasant and I want to encourage them to keep up the good work. Does anyone else appreciate minor stuff like this?

I too appreciate Moog graphic design and they have terrific corporate image. Their manuals, leaflets and brochures all have a nice asthetic. They use black to great effect on their website, sound lab and elsewhere.

I think I can say (without too much fear of contradiction) that a lot of us enjoy analog synthesizers in part for the tactile experience. Perhaps a physical manual engages us in a similar manner.

I agree on all parts. Both them and Apple make you feel like you are really buying an experience.

I also like the physical manual because the rest of my life is spent staring at screens (smartphone, my as a programmer, editing songs on my DAW, etc) that I like play my instrument because there are no screens around.

Exactly the same - 12 hours a day at a computer doing graphics, programming and admin so I don't want to see a computer again after work. Also, being in IT and related industries since the mid 80's, I know full well that any system or software around today won't be usable in a decade, whereas my vintage synths and bits of paper will keep going (with some help).

Yep. I spend 10-12 hrs a day in the Pixel Mine! Kudos to Moog for a nice readable layout, nicely printed.

So, who does that good work? Blue Ridge Printing?
