Hi guys, so when I don't connect my moog via midi or any cable to my pc I get a hiss/noise sound on -74db... But when I connect it via USB cable there is a noise sound (that sounds different- in my opinion not so pleasant) but it is on -88db... Is that normal?

Here is a sample of the noise sound when I raise the volume in my DAW for +24db:

(the first 7 seconds is the noise when the moog is NOT connected to my PC (only audiocable to my soundcard) and after that comes the noise when plugged in via USB)

I don't have much experience with hardware synths... I know that the noise is not loud enough too mess up my mix but I just want your opinion and thoughts... Is it normal that the USB makes a different noise?

Yes this is can be "normal" with USB connection.
There are lots of problems with USB in the audio area. Especially with a PC.Most USB audio problems are caused by data transfer interrupts on the USB stream that is feeding audio from the driver to the sound card. If there is a software/hardware interaction on your computer that adversely affects that data transfer, the result can be a white noise burst and/or popping and crackling from the audio device.
It is depend on What sound-card, IO card, you are using. Good once Have not this problem.
there are hardware filter to use to stop this problem.
In any way...I have the same problem and I use MIDI and the problem is GONE.......

I've got a Pigtronix Echolution 2 between my Sub 37 and my mixing board. I noticed a pile of noise coming out of my speakers so I began the process of debugging. There are also two more effects along with the Echolution and I painstakingly tried various combinations of devices trying to figure out where the glitch was.

As it turned out, when the Echolution's USB port was plugged into the computer (a Mac) the pedal generated noise. Unplug the USB cable from the pedal and the noise goes away. Plug it back in and the noise comes back. What a nightmare!

My Sub 37 is connected to my Mac via the USB port and connected to the rest of my rig through the DIN MIDI connectors. Fortunately I'm not getting noise with this setup, at least not from the Moog.

USB can be a bit of a pain in many ways but for now I seem to have things under control. Just make sure your Sub 37 is plugged directly into your computer and not into a USB Hub. I've had problems with that configuration with my Sub 37 as well as with my Yamaha Motif XF.
