Hi everyone,
I'm a rookie with the moog stuffs. I have always seen the power of moog and now I'm getting to use them...real excited... and happy.
I hope you can share your knowledge and experience with me, in order to grow my moog-skills thanks to you!!!
I excuse me in advance for stupid or non sense question.

I have a mother 32, and use it with ableton, and i have some question:

1) can i record only audio in ableton with mother 32 or also midi?
2) the 'midi in' connector is used to connect a keyboard? other example? do i have any advantage to connect 'midi in' mother 32 to midi (out?) audio soundcard?
3) can i use a usb keyboard with the mother 32?
4) is there a way to record automation with mother 32?
5) about patching, are there any preset to view excluded the manual ones?

Thanks a lot who wants to give me an answer!!!

I'll try to help you to get started...

1. Yes you can record midi but you will need a midi (or USB) midikeyboard connected to your computer en use Midi out from an midi-interface (or audio-interface which has also midi out) to connect to your M32.
Then you record the midi notes and you will be able to hear them played by the M32.

2. See n° one please.

3. You cannot use a USB keyboard directly but you can if connected as stated in n°1.

4. No answer here, have not tried this yet.

5. Not that I know of but I guess there will be nice people who share there settings on forums (fora in English?)

If by that you mean can you record via MIDI the movement of the Mother's knobs, then no you can't. However you can record any automation you want in Ableton then send it via MIDI to the Mother.
