[ok use this thread to talk about everything we can see in the first clue, and for the next clue someone make a thread called "2nd clue"
i think that in these threads to things easier, we should put everything that isn't an observation in brackets eg:]
The top top three LEDs are illuminated, but the side four aren't???????
(not really sure what this means, but it does point out that the LEDs have a funtion and aren't just backlighting like the aniversary/electric blue)

I think the "hip" has some meaning. Why use the quotes?

Hip would imply a Liberation style synth, right?

ah fine don't use my idea to isolate the obseravtions
i thought it might make it easier to just scroll through the page only looking at the observations without interpretations attached (by ignoring anything in brackets), that way you can be more objective when trying to figure out what it is, but hey it was just an idea.

It's just fun with observation and ideas

They emphasize "IT" as well, in all capitals. IT...
an acronymn? Or does it signify that this is a definitive product? (Which I thought the Voyager is.) Or is it just referring to...
an object?!

Also, the LED to the immediate left (not in the picture) is illuminated. You can see its (sorry, ITS) glow on the side... a miniscule and unimportant detail, but I did notice.
The sequencer gets my vote, though. The acronymn search turned up "impulse tracker," which I found
in Wikipedia...

what's with the

??
jeez, relax.
IT is probably a sequencer, a synth or a fooger of some shape.

hey i was only joking.
i hope you were too.
i'm not gonna tell anyone what they can and can't do on this forum, it was merely a suggestion.
ok the story so far
here is the clue,
- a picture of a nob with what could very possibly be, 16 LEDs around it.
- it is a picture that looks as though it was created on a computer, not a photo of a real nob
- the top three LEDs and one to the left outside the frame, are illuminated, the other four are not, this means that there is at least 7 LEDs, and could imply that the LEDs are indicating the position of a parameter, which could then also imply that the nob goes full circle.
- the backgorund is a night sky with fog, no significance IMO (unless it's a smoke machine)
- the words "A NEW MOOG UNVEILED TO THE WORLD" are printed next to the picture, strong implication that it is a synth, but could mean a new instrument never seen before.
- they refer to it as IT possibly an acronymn for impulse tracker or other thing?
- it's "hip"
- it's a "little addition to the product range"
- "Good Things are coming from Moog"
- "A little birdie somewhere told me that it's a very good possibility that it's got strap locks" is this true?
what does it all mean?

well, it definately would have 16 leds, if they do in fact go all the way around:

that's cool
i think the fact they gave us a limited view of the knob is significant,
maybe it was so we didn't see 16 LEDs and assume it's a sequencer
or maybe it was so we would assume that there are 16 LEDs in total, to throw us off.
if you took away the bottom 3 LEDs on your mock up picture, they'd look like normal indents on a parameter knob (only they light up)

Hehe, yes I was only kidding!
Here's a thought (if my dead brain cells have any real value anymore).
What if "hip" is an Acronym!
Say, Hybrid Instrument PolyMoog (A digital/analog).
Or, Human Interface Potentiometer (the big knob theory).
I know "hip" isn't capitalized but it's just another thought.

hmm interesting about the word hip
not sure if there's anything in that but somehow i think it will be a hybrid

Highly interesting possibility, that.
