Can the MF-101 do a volume swell effect?

I'm curious if anyone has had any luck dialing in a volume swell effect with their MF-101. I'm trying to get a sound similar to the Boss Slow Gear.

My thought was that I could use the envelope out to control the mix knob. Then, if I set the frequency control as low as it goes, with no attack or resonance, it seems that it should fade from the wet signal (which is non-existent due to the filter's setting) to the dry signal. However, I'm having trouble getting it to work as I'd like. Have any of you tried this successfully?

Did you turn down the AMOUNT knob? This would raise the cutoff when the envelope was triggered. From what I remember, some dry signal goes through the filter anyway. Although not evelope controlled, you could try patching an LFO to CUTOFF with no resonance.

I had the Amount knob set to 0. With the Cutoff set to to its lowest setting, there is no guitar signal when the mix is set to 10.

Patching an LFO to CUTOFF results in the frequency of the filter changing, which isn't the effect I'm going for.

Patching an LFO to MIX with CUTOFF set to 20, AMOUNT to 0, and RESONANCE to 0 should result in a tremolo effect, if everything works the way I think it does. Having the effect envelope controlled is the effect I'm trying for, so it seems that I could just use the envelope out to MIX. Has anyone done this successfully?

Thanks for responding,
Bryan

Sorry, I meant LFO to MIX (but you'd need an insert cable/mult. to patch an LFO and an envelope signal to MIX. If you have an MF-102, that can do tremolo. MF-101 ENV. OUT to MF-102 MIX to control tremolo level. I think the Line 6 tremolo incorparates an evelope effect?
